This Pub is Permanently Closed

Demolished 1/1/1989, site is now a filling station and retail unit. Closed 1/1/1989. History: Huge inter-wars roadhouse, originally Groves & Whitnall, latterly Greenalls. Towards the end, it gained a rather rough reputation. Opening Times magazine September 1989 reported pub as closed for some time and demolition imminent. Closure date estimated.
