Bulls Head, Macclesfield

The low beamed ceilings and the intimate lay-out of the Bulls Head create a cosy relaxing ambience. There is a seating area adjacent to the bar, a larger quieter corner that was originally a separate room and a small tap room with darts board. The partially covered garden area to the rear is furnished with picnic tables and summer floral displays.

At all times the pub offers two to four real ales. The Bulls Head boasts a significant, varied local clientèle who enjoy an atmosphere that is friendly, inviting and welcoming. The regular consultation with locals about the choice of beers is as fractious as the “Knit, Bitch and Stitch Night” on Tuesdays and as animated as the Quiz on Thursdays @ 8pm. For those who enjoy reading, they can either take advantage of the book swap facility or pick up a newspaper from the rack.

At least two hundred years old, the pub is close to the old toll-gate on the turnpike to Chester. This is a traditional village pub that serves its community.
