This Pub is Closed Long Term

A popular village pub that sits on Back Lane, the original road from Accrington to Manchester, a short walk uphill from Manchester Rd. Behind the pub is Baxenden Cricket Club and a sign on the pub wall indicates right for cricket and left for golf. The Dog has been partially opened up but retains separate areas for drinking. There is usually entertainment on Saturday nights and there is a weekly quiz. Note the Etched glass Lion Ales on the entrance door. Buses from Accrington to Manchester and the Rossendale Valley pass close by.
