This Pub is Closed Long Term

Owner has sought to convert the site to nine luxurary houses, building in to green site. Pre-planning enquiries did not find LA approval. Premises remain closed.

This pub closed to public trade in October 2017 - its future is unknown. It is believed the owner wants to seek planning permission for its demolition, but that has not yet found favour with the LA.

The pub is located close to tunnel on the nearby canal hence the name. There was a community focus and a large outside space/ play area. A local and passing trade was supplemented by walkers and those using the canal.
