  • Outstanding pub conversion

The bar opened in late 2017 and is located within a converted RBS bank in the centre of Buxton. Most of the interior has been refitted with wood effect tile flooring; there is a large new bar and a small mezzanine level above the toilet facilities. Seating comprises mostly of freestanding tables with one booth downstairs and bench seating upstairs. There remains a few original etched glass windows and an original mahogany & glass office space with additional seating & service hatch to the left of the bar.

In addition to the five cask RedWillow beers on handpump there are a further 15 on offer as craft keg beers, together with a selection of bottled and canned beers. There are also 20 gins, various cocktails, & wine on tap. The beers and ciders available, together with pricing, is displayed on a TV screen.

Food from the local takeaways can be ordered and consumed in the pub, see signs in the pub.

Conversion

Located within a converted bank in the centre of Buxton with an impressive facade and an old-fashioned porch. Most of the interior has been refitted with wood-effect tile flooring. The large servery stands where the bank tellers used to operate and has a mosaic counter front, a lovely bar back and an impressive gantry. Tables and seating are mostly freestanding with one booth downstairs and benches upstairs on a small mezzanine. A few original etched glass windows remain together with a mahogany and glass manager's office that has its own service hatch to the bar - this is the star of the show. Lighting is subtle yet eye-catching, created from polished copper pipework. Much thought has gone into a design that makes good use of old features and delivers a pub of character.
