This is a club, which means that the bar may be only open to members.

A private members' club, known as 'The Top Club', established in 1920, CAMRA members with a current members' card can be signed in for a £2 fee when a beer festival is held. Despite being in the town centre, this is a tranquil setting with one aspect an attractive view over St. Mary's churchyard. On Tuesdays and Fridays light lunches are served. There is parking available nearby. The Club has sea fishing and freshwater fishing sections.

Membership forms are available from the bar, there is a joining fee of £20, (£10 for spouse/partner at same address when joining at the same time) and a yearly subscription of £29 per head.
