A large Victorian mirror-backed bar faces the door and several etched glass panels survive, particularly around what was the Private Bar. The rear bar has lounge seating, a pool table and pictures of liners and the old town on the walls. Pavement seating is available. Four handpumps serve a changing range of beers.

Historic Interest

Early 19th century, Grade II listed. Historic England List UID: 1092029. This pub is reputed to have saved the lives of six sailors, three of them brothers, as they lost track of time whilst drinking here, and so failed to take up their posts on the maiden voyage of RMS Titanic.
