Riverside gastro pub, parts of which date back 400 years. Inside there are several different adjoining rooms, mostly dedicated to dining. The older parts have low wooden beamed ceilings, with plenty of boating memorabilia/pictures on the walls. There is also a picture of the cast of the 80's drama series Howards' Way that made the pub famous. The large outside paved drinking area includes a covered jetty which can be used by those arriving by boat. For those who come by other means a steep narrow stairway will have to be negotiated from the road above the pub, where there is limited parking. Additional parking can be found in the free car park adjoining Bursledon Station from which the pub is signposted.
