This Pub is Closed Long Term

The Iron Duke, named after the Duke of Wellington, was originally a workers premises and is still part of the Stratfield Saye estate. The pub is very tastefully furnished and retains much of the original character, the main dining area (food served all day) having a closed log fire. The original painting of the Duke of Wellington hanging above the fireplace was loaned by the estate. There is small comfortable snug. Accommodation is also available. Hanging on the walls of the gent's toilet are an interesting collection of old tools handed down through the generations. The large beer garden has an old ice cream van and chickens can usually be found running around.
