This Pub is Permanently Closed
Located on a large council estate to the north east of the town centre, The Temple Belle was a large Courage house dating from 1964. Its three bars were named after three other Courage pubs in the town that had recently closed - The Three Tuns, The Prince of Orange, and The One Bell.
Although it had not enjoyed the best of reputations, as the only pub on the estate it was a huge loss to the community when it closed in 2007. Sadly, it was lost permanently when Dartford Borough Council subsequently granted permission to convert it to a supermarket in 2010.
Thanks to www.dover-kent.com for use of the archive image. A more recent photo of the pub as a going concern would be much appreciated - please use the feedback facility. We would also like to know who the Temple Belle was!
