The building was formerly the London, Tilbury & Southend Railway's station in Romford, which opened in 1893, just across South Street from the main Great Eastern Railway station, which is still in use.
The two stations were merged in 1934 and the (by then) London Midland & Scottish Railway station entrance & booking hall was closed and converted to shops.
In the 1990s it became a bar, which went through a series of names and styles, before becoming Bradwell's in May 2015.
Its Premises Licence was revoked in 2016 following "a catalogue of errors and breaches", then in 2019 it was granted a new Premises Licence to become the "QQ Lounge", but instead in autumn 2021 it became an ice cream, coffee & desserts restaurant / cafe with takeaway.
