This Pub is Permanently Closed
Previous description: Pub has been on this site since 18th Century. This is a two room pub with the saloon bar being the quieter bar. Public bar has a pool table in it. Pub is decorated with various maritime artifacts and there are a number of historic photos of the pub. Function room upstairs where live bands often play. Every Tuesday night is The Hoy at Anchor Folk Club and the first Friday of the month is Pink Flamingo Club. Up to 3 real ales served.
An application has been submitted to convert The Ship public house in Leigh-on-Sea into a 14 bedroom hotel. See Facebook page and 19/00757/FUL Change of use of former Public House (Class A4) to 14 bedroom Hotel (C1), erect 2 storey side extension to west side of building, raise roof ridge height and erect second floor rear extension, refurbish and alter elevations, install railings to terrace areas and balconies, erect external fire escape staircase to rear, repair existing boundary wall to front, layout 7 parking spaces and form hotel drop off point to front.
