Quiet comfortable and welcoming lounge bar, newly decorated in 2024 with 1920s wallpaper and painted walls. It features high quality comfortable seating arranged in several cosy areas. There is also a neat garden area at the back.

The single hand-pump often features an ale from Fyne. There are plans to increase to two real ales. In addition there is a selection of local kegged beers from smaller breweries like Campervan, Newbarns and Moonwake along with a very wide range of whiskies at pretty good prices.

The food offering consists of a few simple small plates such as charcuterie or a cheeseboard along with an interesting range of pizzas.

Run by the same people as the Ensign Ewart at the top of the Royal Mile.

Handy for visitors to the King's Theatre.
