Formerly the Ivory Lounge until in May 2010 it became one of the smaller JD Wetherspoon pubs in the city, close to the site of the birthplace of Alexander Graham Bell, who patented the first telephone.

It consists of a single room much of which is set out with a mix of high and conventional tables and chairs and there are also booths and semi-circular sofas. The bar extends along one wall and the rear has is a small raised area suitable for family dining. Toilet facilities are conveniently located towards the rear on the same floor, albeit via a small number of steps, except for the step-free disabled toilets.

The pub is popular with all ages and can become very busy at weekends and meal times. As is usual with pubs with this layout, the buzz of conversation can be loud but is not unpleasant.

NOTE: Alcohol may not be served before 11am.
