A mile from the centre of Bishop Auckland, and in the shadow of the ancient St Andrew's church, this smart local has a bright feel and a good reputation for food. There is a spacious L-shaped bar across the front and a small dining room/snug to the rear. The eponymous Grand National winner was trained just across the road.
