This Pub is Permanently Closed
This large suburban pub was built in the Tudor style and stood on the corner of Osmaston Road and Harvey Road. Reportedly designed by T.H. Thorpe for Zachary Smiths brewery (Shardlow) and opened in 1930. At this time the brewery owned a substantial amount of Public Houses.
It has ample parking located next to the Derby ring road traffic island known locally as 'spider island' due to the pedestrian bridge that spans it.
The building was demolished in May 2020 and a coffee restaurant build on the land.
