The pub is situated five miles north-east of Darlington, just off an old Roman road in a small, quiet village. The bay-windowed 18th-century main building on the tiny green accommodates the old public bar, the extensions to the right a lounge and dining room. There are plenty of seats outside at the front of the pub. Spot the VR post box.
