Penketh Tavern, Penketh

Former British Legion purchased by Warrington Housing Association in 2013 and converted into a pub. At risk of closure and conversion to housing. Parts of the building dates from the 1880's and many of the original fixtures and fittings are still in place including the stained glass windows in the old chapel area and in the snooker room which used to be an orangery the cabinets and fire surround, originally built and fitted out by Garnetts Cabinets Works of Warrington, can still be seen. No Real Ale.

Single story extension (orangery?) was demolished 2018/2019 and planning permission for full demolition and replacement with 30 flats for the over 55s, while refused by Warrington Borough Council, was passed on appeal 17/08/2020.
