A village pub divided into two halves and split further into what are five distinct areas. The main lounge bar, accessed directly from the front door, has a restaurant area at the rear decorated in an equine theme. The public bar, accessed from a side door, has one area extensively decorated with sporting memorabilia and team scarves. A corridor at the rear of the bar connects the two sides, provides access to the toilets, and an exit to the rear of the pub. Live sport is popular in the public bars and dogs are welcome throughout the pub. 4 real ales, mainly from local breweries, and home-cooked meals are served. There is a large car park and an outdoor drinking area, with some covered seating, at the rear of the pub. Bunbury was used as the location for the ITV series "Home Fires" and the Nags Head, as well as being frequented by the actors, was used as the "Horse and Groom" in the programme.

Historic Interest

In 1630 there were seven inns in Bunbury. This relatively high figure may have been a factor in the Court of Great Session’s requirement of 1638 for ‘the suppression of superfluous alehouses in Bunbury’. In 1797 an innkeeper named Thomas Walker was recorded, as was the Nag’s Head public house.
