Street corner community oriented pub, an attractive conversion from a former hotel, although floors above the ground still retain a number of rooms now given over to private tenants. Basic open plan but with three distinct areas around a central bar. The guest beers change constantly and manager seeks to include a dark beer in the winter. Good quality well regarded home cooked food available, with widely renowned Sunday lunches. Family and dog friendly. Holds summer Beer Festivals with stillage in courtyard.

Hosts weekly quizzes, comedy evenings and occasional live music.
