This Pub is Closed Long Term

A warm welcome and friendly atmosphere await you at this archetypal country pub. The character of the place stems from the wealth of exposed timbers and the split-level interior - tables divided into berths at the lower end offer privacy while the more open top end lends itself to convivial dining. Speciality food nights are a regular feature. Attention to detail sets this pub apart and ensures customers always return.

Cambridge & District CAMRA Lockdown Community Award 2020.

The Chequers was extensively damaged by a fire on 8 December 2021 and was subsequently demolished.

The pub site was sold by Admiral Taverns in early April 2022. A community group is currently campaigning to get the village its pub back.
