This Pub is Permanently Closed

Roadside pub that was originally a coaching inn on the London to Brighton postal service route. The bar has a games area for bar billiards, darts and toad in the hole. Home-cooked food is available lunchtimes and evenings (no food Tue). The pub has a beautiful, recently renovated, garden with a covered and heated smoking area. There are annual beer, cider and sausage festivals and a Mr & Mrs contest. A charity quiz is held on the last Tuesday of each month.

According to https://www.sussexexpress.co.uk/news/villagers-unite-to-raise-300k-to-buy-chailey-pub-1-8831176 this pub closed at the end of 2018 and now a community group Horns Lodge Chailey Ltd is trying to raise £300,000 to purchase pub ... the group's website is www.hornslodgechailey.co.uk

Premises bought by a developer - seems unlikely it will remain as a pub.

Building has a new owner and it seems unlikely that it will reopen as a pub
