This Pub is Permanently Closed

What used to be an imposing, popular Victorian pub located in a prominent position within the urban village of Heaton was closed in 2016. Despite an ACV being granted and a spirited attempt by the local community to save the pub, it was sold to a developer in the first half of 2017. The building now houses an ice-cream parlour and residential accommodation.
