Historic Interest

In March 1976 it was mentioned as a good place to go for Burtonwood Light and Dark Mild and it was included in the 1977 Good Beer Guide. The Pub was listed in John Stotts 1977 guide to Good Beer in Bolton as selling Burtonwood Bitter and both light and dark Mild (E), with Juke Box, darts, dominoes, snacks. Also in April 1977 it was listed as a good place to visit for Burtonwood beers by Geoff Breakwell. It was included in the selective Greater Manchester Beer Guide in 1980, but by May 1981 it was a Keg only pub. It reverted back to cask Burtonwood Mild and Bitter in February 1988. It was listed in the 1989 Beer in Bolton Guide as selling Burtonwood Mild and Bitter (H).
