Historic Interest
Licence transferred to retail outlet from Pub, landlord was Leslie Harrison and owner Admiral Taverns. In May 1981 it was a Whitbread Keg pub, but by December 1981 it was listed as selling Duttons Bitter, however it was Chesters Bitter and over the next few months sold guest beers such as Castle Eden Ale, Saxon Cross Bitter and Marstons Pedigree. It was renamed the Amsterdam Bar by February 1983 when Duttons Bitter and Marston's Pedigree were on the bar. A social was held here on March 20th 1983. By October 1983 the cask beer was Trophy Bitter but by June 1985 the pub was all keg. In 1987 the pub was closed and was thought to returning to a 'normal' pub. By 1995 it was known as the Victoria Beer Engine and in August 2000 Boddingtons Bitter was on sale at £1.22 a pint.
