This Pub is Closed Long Term
The Antrim Arms has been falling into disrepair and was placed on the heritage at risk register in 2020. Masonry started to fall off in October 2024 resulting in road closures and the site being fenced off. Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council applied for a court order to force the owners to make repairs but this was blocked by a judge as it would put the owners at risk of prosecution for unauthorised works to a listed building. The owners applied to demolish the building but this was refused in view of its Grade B1 listing.
On the evening of 19th April 2026 the building went on fire, seriously damaging the roof and back of the building. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) have confirmed the blaze is being treated as deliberate.
