This Pub is Permanently Closed

This well known pub and restaurant closed many years ago. It was owned by the Guinness group and is now an apartment area. I used to work there and have many good memories of the Guinness.

My father often told the following story concerning the Homestead. Back in the 1950's Cecil, a friend of my father, inherited £300 in his father's will. He spent his time at the Homestead, often drinking until closing time. He would then wait outside the pub until it opened again on the morning. (PM)
