Reopened in December 2018 following extensive refurbishment by then new owners, True North Brew Co. Downstairs the left hand snug was thankfully not changed while the main bar is cleverly divided by a low screen. Three new rooms were created upstairs. The purpley-brown and cream colour scheme is very tasteful. As well as the changing real ale (usually one, occasionally two), several quality keg beers are offered plus some interesting stuff in can and bottle.

The pub is now dog friendly. In August 2026, the pub was sold to the Valiant Pub Co so changes may well be afoot.
