This Pub is Closed Long Term

Known to generations of locals and passers-by as the Paraffin Lamp, and more recently Canny Man, this re-named, well-designed country pub and restaurant has a pleasant ambience and warm, friendly service. Competitively priced, quality home-cooked meals are available. There is a landscaped beer garden and patio for the summer months and a log fire during the winter. Although the pub's reputation is mainly for food, there is a bar area for drinkers. Licensed from 10am, but breakfast is available from 8am. Changed hands and renamed February 2022 and selling real ale again, but not always available so check before visiting. Closed temporarily November 2022.
