Purchased by a local farmer in July 2025 and reopened on 5 April 2026 after a prolonged closure. Cask beer was reintroduced in May 2026, with one beer served from a cooled cask on the bar. A small, traditional village pub, with a small bar area and, up a couple of steps, a long narrow section festooned with vintage photographs, artwork and mirrors. A mini shop features various local produce mainly from Yew Tree Farm. Lunch is served until 2.30 (not Mon or Tues), but there are no cooked meals available in the evenings. Filled rolls and hot snacks are offered, though. A hidden room behind the bar contains a dartboard and pool table. The garden catches the sun beautifully at lunch times and is accessed via steep stairs or more easily from the car park above. Plans are afoot to open at 10am for breakfast Thursday to Sunday

Stone built village pub where it is possible to see the changes to the interior thanks to some old photos on the public bar wall. A latch door leads into the public bar with an old/original counter, an old, but not original mirrored bar back fitting and four 'fake' casks from which real ales are sold (using an air compressor). The old photo shows a different bar back and real casks stillaged behind the bar. The room has three old benches and scrubbed top tables. Up two steps is the long narrow two-part (i.e. two rooms in the past) dining room which is served from a curious narrow 'bar', which I was told was a relic from the days the rear part of the pub was cow sheds!!?? The old photo of the smoke room indicates the rear left was the original second room with another room beyond it i.e. rear right (originally living quarters) and that there was an old stove in a corner. On the front right is another small room served from a flap across a doorway to the back of the servery. This room which has been brought into use has an old bench but it is difficult to date the dado panelling. Please note some customers have their own car park spaces!
