After a near sell-out CAMRA releases more tickets for the virtual Great British Beer Festival

After a near sell out, more tickets are now on sale for the virtual Great British Beer Festival, taking place from 11-13 September and organised by the Campaign for Real Ale.

Over half of the tastings were sold out within 24 hours of the festival launch, so organisers have worked with suppliers to offer more tickets for the dark, golden, bitter beer and cider tastings.

Visitors to CAMRA’s iconic event can purchase a ticket to a weekend of live beer tastings that will run from 2 pm – 9:30 pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There will be tastings taking place each day led by experts such as Roger Protz, Cheryl Cade and Adrian Tierney-Jones.

There will also be pre-recorded ‘events’ for visitors to dip into in between the tastings, which includes a tour and Q&A of Charles Faram hop farmCrisp Malt maltings, Harvey’s Brewery and Little Pomona Orchard.

Tickets retail at £46/each and include a 2020 festival glass and 11 beers to participate in two of the tasting sessions. These include an ‘introduction to beer’ session, which will feature some of the category winners from last year’s Champion Beer of Britain competition, and an additional six beers for an in-depth tasting of a specific style of their choice.

Festival organiser Catherine Tonry says: “It is astounding to have sold out so many tasting for the first virtual Great British Beer Festival so quickly! However, we do not want anyone to be disappointed with the selection on offer, so we have been working with partners to get more beer cases ordered for the most popular tastings. We look forward to the festival, which is set to be a great weekend of beer, friendship and more!”
