Restaurant/Pub
A pleasant country-style pub in Yateley's retail centre, offering a choice of three real ales - Sharp's Doom Bar as the regular, and two guests. Good value meals are available throughout the day, and takeaway food can be ordered online for collection or delivery.
A Grade II listed building, this pub has been extensively refurbished over the years and is now a "Vintage Inn" within the Mitchells & Butlers portfolio. The sizeable floorspace is split into several smaller areas, with lots of nooks and crannies. The two log fires give a distinctly cosy and welcoming atmosphere in wintry weather.
Historic Interest
Having existed for over 150 years, this Grade II listed building was originally an old 19th Century coaching inn. It was licensed in 1856 by Mr James Rogers - look out for his tankard in the pub restaurant to this day. The renowned 19th Century murderer Charles Peace was said to have kept the horse he used to escape on in the inn's stables, before being caught and executed in 1879. (Source: Pub Website)
