A pub of this name has existed at this site since at least 1739. Now it's a traditional old-school Sam Smith's pub with trademark Smith's only beer, but cheaper prices than the norm since purchase from Allied in 1998. A small ground-floor bar with lounge bar upstairs. Decor features the colour brown!

Patrons should note that the brewery's policy is that its pubs are for social conversation person to person. This includes bans on swearing, mobile phones (except for payments), laptops or tablets; however, in the London area this policy may be relaxed or not enforced by staff.
