Wapentake, which is an old Yorkshire word to describe an administrative area, is a little piece of Yorkshire. The bare boards and shabby chic furniture create a cozy atmosphere, with the downstairs for chat and upstairs with a television for sports. Wapentake has a relaxed vibe that feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Food is locally sourced from Kirkgate Market and the menu includes Yorkshire pudding burgers. May close early on Wednesdays and Thursdays if quiet. Card payment only.
