Lively local, situated on the bank of the Aire & Calder Navigation. The public bar is usually busy, while the large lounge can host events. a pool room and large function room complete the facilities here. The pub fields darts, dominoes & pool teams. It was voted local CAMRA Pub of the Season Winter 2001/2/3. Outside drinking takes place in summer on the grassy canal bank. Formerly known as the Commercial, it saw the establishment of local marine insurance formed by the owners of vessels `for mutual benefit & in case of loss or damage at sea or otherwise`.
