Friendly and welcoming pub, purchased and refurbished by Black Country Ales in 2020. The central bar serves all areas on the main floor. Many cask ales are on the handpulls, including from Black County Ales, and changing ones come from local and national breweries. The two ciders may not be real. Fresh cobs, pork pies and sausage rolls are available. The stove adds warmth and atmosphere in winter.
Downstairs, there is a cosy and bright brick vaulted cellar, with its own bar, used for functions and events such as Black Country evenings and live music.
Below, at the back, is an enclosed garden.
Historic Interest
The pub is reputedly haunted by the ghost of a waif who died nearby, and it is known nationwide for this. This is the only pub in the country named The Starving Rascal.
