Large, gothic conversion of a former church. Named after the ruins of Slains Castle, near Cruden Bay, in north-east Aberdeenshire which is rumoured to have influenced Bram Stoker to write Dracula. The pub is on various levels and has a gothic feel to it.
Now reported as no longer selling real ale.
It is planned to convert this pub to a Slug & Lettuce but no sign of this happening yet but that will probably mean no chance of ale ever returning.
