This pub was originally known as the Waggon Makers Arms and appeared in the very first Good Beer Guide in 1974 (albeit named Waggoners). Described as a typical working-class house with live music at weekends it once served beers from the long closed Matthew Brown brewery in Blackburn.
Whilst remaining a traditional pub it underwent a significant renovation in 2021 both inside and out. A long bar down runs down one side of the pub serving a mainly open plan layout with plenty of comfortable seating and a good beer garden to the rear.
