Opened in 1979, this estate pub takes its name from that of its first owner - George Saddler. It started life as a freehouse (apparently one of only two in the town at the time), with beers initially supplied principally by Wem Brewery. A later landlord (1987-1994) was Ken Mulhearn, the noted 1970s Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper)
The pub supports around 10 teams, and raises hundreds of pounds every year for the local Severn Hospice.
