Friendly, popular and comfortable pub, parts of which are quite ancient - The old Saxon town wall passes through the building. It is home to the original Hop Kettle brewery and this remains despite the pub being acquired by St Austell. There are nine real ales on offer: four Hop Kettle and four from St Austell, plus one guest beer. Excellent quality food is served and there are five rooms available for B&B. There is a large garden at the back. Several times local CAMRA Branch Pub of the Year.
