Friendly, popular and comfortable pub, parts of which are quite ancient – Part of the Saxon town wall passes through the building. At the rear is a large garden that hosts beer festivals together with a covered seating and the original Hop Kettle microbrewery.
There are nine real ales on offer split between Hop Kettle, St Austell, and guests from elsewhere including the St Austell 'Cask Club' small batch brews.
Very popular with walkers and locals. Close to the source of the River Thames. Excellent food is served and there are also five rooms for B & B. Several times local CAMRA Branch Pub of the Year.
