22/06/23 - The new owners say it will re-open “with craft beer and ales” in four weeks time. We shall check it out when the time comes. It won’t be called The Lord Nelson, though. It’ll be Rattle & Hum. Now open.
Update March 2021 - This pub is now permanently closed and is a Turkish restaurant called 'Nivan Restaurant'. The pub was family run until 3/4 years ago, and was gradually run down until it closed around 2 years ago.
NOTE - recent report, 24/8/19, "Has this pub closed? Have been past two weekends running and it hasn't been open."
A street corner pub with a very modernised interior. You would imagine that being close to Wood Green station it would be bustling but something seems to be missing. Often it's the real ale whose availability could never be guaranteed but new management has re-introduced cask ale recently. Let's see if it continues. Beer in the Evening suggests it survives on being busy when there's a football match.
Opened in 1988 as yet another Marler's 'Liberty Inn' Free House in former shop premises.
