Large, three roomed estate pub opened around 1970. the room on the right is a traditional tap room with a dart board and pool table. The main lounge is well decorated and old pictures of the Rotherham area adorn the walls. A long bar leads to a function room cum small lounge at the rear of the pub. The ever changing real ales range has now been increased to two. These are sourced from microbreweries, local and national, and often unusual for the area. Perched above the entrance is an old Rotherham Plough, so named because it was invented in the town. This gave rise to the pub's name. Food is served between noon and 4 pm Wednesday to Friday. It is a short walk from the pub to the Greasbrough dams beauty spot and walks to Wentworth. Reopened in early October, following a short period of closure, under new operators.
