This is a hotel, which means that the bar is only open to residents.
Large grey stone residential hotel perched on an embankment overlooking the Ebbw Valley and above the main road into Ebbw Vale. Built in 1899 and formerly in the ownership of Webbs Brewery, the elegant exterior is typical of the Victorian era. Entry through a high arched doorway gives access to a reception area with a magnificent staircase and a small seating area with a Chesterfield suite. The cosy lounge bar has two sections each with a ;fireplace. The lounge gives access to a pleasant conservatory restaurant, including an outside area, that gives fine views across the valley. The large public bar is comfortably furnished and hosts live entertainment most weeks. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Ebbw Vale Parkway railway station (bus link to town centre) and is served by local bus services. It spent some time as the Ambala Indian restaurant before reverting to a hotel.
