This is a club, which means that the bar may be only open to members.
The Sports and Social Club was developed in 1904 by John Bamford, one of nine children of Henry John Bamford, who founded Bamfords Limited, which became a popular employer in the town. In 1978, Oldfields Sports and Social Club took over the maintenance of the pavillion and in 1992, the Oldfields Management Committee took over the responsibility for the ground maintenance. Over the past few years the facilities have been restored to their former glory.
It is the home many local sports clubs and of Uttoxeter Lions Beer & Cider Festival which takes place in June. Otherwise it has no real ales. 9 varieties of Keg are available, including Old Peculiar, Theaksons, Salt and Loom. Bottled Pedigree and Old Speckled Hen are also available.
