This 400-year-old roadside inn has been extensively redecorated inside and out. Located at the west edge of the village, it is only five minutes' walk from the bus terminus at the top of the hill. With oak beams, flagged floors and open fires, it is a building with considerable charm. Drinkers are welcome and locally sourced food is served. Walkers will find it close to the Pennine Way, Bronte Way and Millennium Way. Families and dogs are most welcome throughout the pub including the eight letting rooms. Four beers are usually available.
