This is a club, which means that the bar may be only open to members.
Open to non-members on payment of £1 entry fee. This fee is waived unpon production of a valid CAMRA membership card. Occasional Open Days when entry is free to non members.
Friendly and welcoming, an imposing Victorian building on the main thoroughfare was originally built as the Liberal Club in the late 19th century and has always been a club. Now home to a social club with a thriving membership of approximately 1000. It has a comfortable lounge-style front bar and an another serving room at the back with traditional games and TV. Another bar upstairs with a function/meeting room can be hired. Monday is quiz night and there are regular live music events. Branch Club of the Year 2022 and Yorkshire Runner-up 2017 and 2018.
