Situated in the middle of the village opposite the church. Extensively refurbished and reopened in June 2013 as a smart gastropub. However the seating can be cramped and the only seating available to non-diners may be restricted to bar stools. Quiz night Thursday and live music on Friday.
Historic Interest
Built in 1892 to replace the old pub on this site. At different times a Chester Lion Brewery, Bents brewery and a West Cheshire Brewery pub later selling Whitbread beers in the 1980s, it was renamed as the Stanley Cask Ale House in the 1990s, it closed by 2012 and after a period of closure the pub was extensively refurbished and reopened in 2013 as a gastropub.
