The Marine is a sea-front Grade II listed hotel where friendly staff serve two changing regionally sourced real ales, and where a strong local clientele is supported by day visitors, as well as holidaying guests making use of the accommodation.
Formerly the Seven Stars, which Camerons Brewery bought in 1899, only to then demolish it and replace it with what, at that time, would have been a large classy 1900s seaside hotel catering for holidaying visitors, especially with the extensive three mile beach just 20 yards away.
To this day, the Marine remains a stylish privately family owned 28 en-suite bedroomed hotel, where you are assured a friendly welcome.
The main bar area has been refurbished to create a large open space, with decorative wooden panels and an ornate ceiling and providing extensive sea views.
In addition, the restaurant was completed refurbished in 2025 providing enhanced dining facilities to go with the traditional carvery meals for which the Marine is justifiably recommended, together with the good value menu. In addition, breakfasts are served.
Monday is quiz night, while live bands play on Fridays, with details posted on the Hotel's website.
Also famed for hosting the annual Boxing Day dip in aid of local charities.
