Hooper Micropub, Wibsey

Reported to have closed down after 31 Dec 2025 - a sad loss in an area in which there are only a handful of pubs selling cask ale. Unfortunately, a buyer to continue the running of the pub could not be found. The future is uncertain.

The description of the former pub is given below:

Opened on Christmas Eve 2015, this cosy and friendly, split-level micropub quickly established itself with local people in the urban village of Wibsey. The bar is situated on the upper level and there is comfortable seating in the lower part. Four handpulls offer a varying selection of cask ales that are primarily sourced from the local / Yorkshire region but with the occasional beer from further afield. Photographs of old Wibsey provide a simple relief from the otherwise minimalist décor. Closing times may vary depending upon the demand.

It holds the record for being the longest holder of the local CAMRA Branch Pub of the Season award...having been awarded this in March 2020 just before the Government's COVID-19 pandemic restrictions were implemented.
