Hillary Step, Whalley Range

Modern bar in small strip of shops and bars a short walk north from Chorlton centre and served by the tram stop at Firswood. Established in 2004, the start of 2012 saw the bar double in size with a new extension into the unused yard to the rear and a new longer bar. Large windows in the extension make it bright and welcoming in summer. There is a large covered patio to the front with plentiful seating although can get very busy on warm summer days. The bar now operates table and bar service.

Five handpumps are on the bar, RedWillow, Pomona Island and Squawk often feature. One pump is dedicated to dark beers over winter. Up to eight keg beers also feature. A range of whiskies and gins are available.

Children welcome until 7pm
